Powerful local stories were shared. The documentary that touched the hearts of so many and won a total of three awards for the night was MIXED PALETTE: Art and Inclusion ``Our Artists are our Greatest Strength``, Director Susie Waller

From animations, great storytelling to entertaining music videos this produced some impressive work, including Director Sally Newman's 7000 YEARS, winner of this category.

It's hard to compare creative story with documentary, but that's what we did with this category and it was highly competitive. In the end it was South Coast Baptist College with THE LIFT that came out head of the schools in 2022.

This unique Under 60 Seconds category produced some ``pearlers``. With over 80 entries for this category, we selected 5 finalists. 8 year-old Samar Sandhu shone with his stop-motion entry ROCKO ADVENTURE.

Our filmmakers of the future. This category produced some real 'rising stars'. Hosanna Cheney won the awards with her humourous short story, BANANA LOVERS.

This year's winner of the ``Best Story`` went to South Coast Baptist Year 10 Students for THE LIFT. Congratulations on this amazing achievement.

Well done Jaxon McNee with his entry AS KNIGHT FALLS for standing out as a filmmaker to watch for in the future. We look forward to seeing more of your work.

The Film Festival Committee chose Mat Middz as the person who had entered the competition, but didn't final, and someone they would most definitely like to see further entries from in the future.

Congratulations to Mick Horne with his entry WILLIAM'S BIRTHDAY for winning the Judges Commendation Award. Great work!

Mick Horne, you've created history! Not only did you win the best comedy scene for WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?, you gave us the answer to this age-old question - and we thank you!
